- Background
Kampar River Festival is a continuity from the successful of Kampar River Festival 2019, which the biggest and first whitewater festival organized in Malaysia. The 2019 event received an overwhelming support from both local and international rafting/kayak athletes. Not only that, the event also contributed a very good impact on local community in terms of income and exposure. Due to its potential, Malaysia has finally be chosen by the International Rafting Federation (IRF) to be a host for Level B event and acknowledged Kampar River Festival 2024 as World Cup Series rafting race.
- AIM
To promote rafting as a sport besides promoting Malaysia as an International venue for rafting race, which will eventually become a venue for the World Rafting Championship.
- OBJECTIVE
- To produce potential Malaysia’s rafting athletes.
- To educate people on river sustainability & conservation, at the same time celebrating nature.
- To create competitive adventure tourism industry by producing competent & skillful river guides.
- To play an integral role in stimulating the local communities to collaborate and participate in the event and therefore increase the socio-economic of the locals.
- To promote Perak as an International adventure tourism destination.
